SEC to drop satellite camp proximity restriction in '16 if national rules aren't changed. "Our people can fan out and have at it," -- Slive.

Also penalty for rushing field could increase from $5,000 for 1st offense to $50,000.

Penalty for rushing field now trending toward $50,000 range for first time offense, according to Slive.

I hate it since it makes crootin an even bigger mess and takes time from coaches BUT we can't stand idly by while others do this.
Watch for the B1G and other P5s to suddenly agree with us on changing this in a few years.

So, Saban speaks, and Slive just does whatever he says?
Makes sense.

BS rule, imo. It's CFB and fans should have their fun besides schools have to do enough repair and this will mainly hurt smaller schools. Then again, SECNetwork $$.

It still won't be a level playing field because there are more players and better players in the south

Well, this is bullshite. Guess the SEC office just needs some extra cash.

But this rule will allow Saban/Bama to set up camps in Georgia, Louisiana, Texas, California, Washington DC, etc.

Not really. I think it's a bit dangerous for the coaches and players of the opposing team that are still on the field. Having that many intoxicated people all trying to get to the same small space while others are trying to leave is a recipe for disaster.
It would be different if they waited until the players and coaches cleared the field.

Yes but unlike many we not only recruit the South (despite Tennessee's instate talent explosion) but all over. We blanket the Midwest, places like NC, VA, DC, etc, and elsewhere like Cali and out West. OSU and Meechagan are both highly pissed at us for 'stealing' the top croots in their state (guys they were after hard). As are many others. Location makes it an easy drive from damn near everywhere.
And the SEC name carries TONS of weight with recruits even those in Jersey or New York.

Yeah, I'm excited about this. Mason has already shown he wants to take a national approach to things in order to find the right fits who are are talented enough to contribute and want to come to Vandy. It probably helps us as much as anyone. That's a first...

Usually, players/coaches are escorted away but only most. Last time we rushed the field was in 98 and it was legal then. I don't think there were any UF players on the field when we did that but I could be wrong.
At any rate, it was perfectly safe. And BTW, I DO understand where you're coming from and realize every school does it differently.
Also, agree 100 percent with you that if fans wait til players and coaches are off the field that would be best. Would not mind seeing that become an exception.

It's really a coup for both Tennessee schools - UK as well. Of course, I expect the P5 to create a universal ban on this ASAP but in the mean time we have time.

At the Ole Miss game our players and coaches were still on the field. The officer next to Saban had to take out an OM fan.
It also discourages sportsmanship. Players and coaches can't stay on the field to shake hands with the opponent if there are a bunch of fans rushing.
There are other ways to celebrate upsets. Leave rushing the field to the highschoolers.

LSU head coach Les Miles would be a willing participant in satellite camps if the SEC doesn't get its way.
"Should that not be a violation, I promise you, we'll do it all summer next year," he said. "Next year, we'll be in all different locations."

I kinda remember that. Really bad form, imo. No knock against OM but how may times have they gotten a chance to not only be ranked high but knock off a highly ranked Bama team too?
I think if we made an exception for clearing the field first it would work well. Fans are pretty aware and would likely comply. It's not long too wait, imo.

Translation: Saban doesn't like seeing the field rushed after Bama loses.
