Auburn critics always seem to point out that without Cam, Auburn is a shitty program. But when comparing Auburn to other programs, it is unfair to dismiss AU's best season while including the best season of everyone else. So let's see how each program stacks up over the last 5 years when we exclude each team's best season.

1. Alabama 47-7 (excludes 2009 14-0 team)
2. LSU 38-14 (excludes 2011 13-1 team)
3. Arkansas 27-23 (excludes 2011 11-2 team)
4. Texas A&M 26-25 (excludes 2012 11-2 team)
(tie)5. Auburn 24-26 (excludes 2010 14-0 team)
(tie)5. MSU 24-26 (excludes 2010 9-4 team)
7. Ole Miss 22-28 (excludes 2009 9-4 team)

Oh, is this the thread where we pick an arbitrary time period and use it to make a point?

ETA: Auburn was young dammit.

ETA2: We have 2 coaching changes in that time period. What was Bama's record from 2003 - 2008?

Big three.

It isn't fair to include aTm's record against Texas Tech, Baylor, Kansas, and Mizzou either...

I say lets do this list again next year and see if Arky is still a "Big 3"

I think recent history is relevant.

Better judge of current standings than games played 10, 15, or 20 years ago.

5 years is pretty standard.

Pretty bad. Let's go back in a time machine and make a thread on here 5 years ago and talk about that. People would care about that time period a lot more 5 years ago than they do now.

I was trying to at least put the "Auburn sucks without Cam" argument on a level playing field. I guess it turns out that Auburn really does suck without Cam, whereas Bama, LSU, and Arkansas have maintained consistency even without their most dominant year included.

You got two 9-4 seasons out of him in 4 years. Not bad for Ole Miss, especially following Ed Orgeron.

Auburn and aTm somehow only get their programs judged by the one or two "good" years a decade while all the shitty years that surround those years is ignored. Both are very inconsistent programs.

More like Bama and LSU and only 3 games seperate AU and Arky.

BTW, if you go back 5 more years, you have to add 50 wins for AU, an average of 10 per year (with 13 games being the most a team could play instead of 14).

When was the last decade that Auburn only had one or two "good" years? The 40s?

See my post. And has Arky ever averaged 10 wins a year over a period of 5 years or more in its entire history?

What is an amazing statistic that emerged from this unintentionally is the fact that all 7 SEC West programs have had at minimum a 9 win season at least once in the last 4 years. Talk about a meat grinder of a schedule with no true doormat to pick on. Hell, even the worst program in the division just landed the #1 recruit in America and a top 10 class.

We went 33-5 over a 3 year stretch and won 50 games in just 5 seasons.

We won 20 in a row that included a one loss and undefeated season as well as an SEC West title in a third season. That is 3 ten win seasons. Plus 3 more 8 or 9 win seasons that decade. All 6 of those seasons noted included top 20 finishes as well.
