That's some very effective one-dimensionality.

Agreed!
I think y'alls run game would put up 150+ on the Jags this season.

ETA: Hell, Guice would get my vote for 2nd best back in the SEC.

LSU is a one man team, so LF must be averaging 460+ ypg against P5 opponents.

I know you're being sarcastic, but it really is. Y'all's running game is amazing.

The scary thing about LSU is that I don't feel like the team has played anything close to a complete game yet. It feels like they take off about one to two quarters per game, and I'm not exaggerating. Also, the special teams have been disastrous to date. The scoring defense would be so much better without the special teams lapses that occur every game. I don't know if this is something to be encouraged about or not, but I do know if they decide to play a full 60 and just play average special teams, they'd be much better. Also, it's one of the most penalized teams in all of college football, and so many of the penalties cost LSU major plays and directly took points off the board.

So, we'll see if that trend continues for the rest of the season and, if it does, it will cost LSU a game or two. If it doesn't, I really think it's going to be a very hard team to beat.

I know this is sarcasm, but I've also seen some people post it here as well.

Even when you weigh LSU's offense vs opposing defenses, they're still #3 in the SEC and over 40 yards above the opposing defense's average. Regardless of how you measure it, LSU's offense is getting the job done.

If someone were REALLY trying to make a point, I suppose I could try and figure out rushing defense vs rushing offense, but IMHO that's splitting hairs. Also, drill down TOO far and single game bias will start causing issues because we're still only talking a max sample size of 5 (and only 4 for LSU)

I totally get this because I feel the same way about my aggys on occasion. However, at some point you have to ask yourself if the "incomplete" game is all they have to offer.

It was last season for the aggys, and is still too early to tell for both teams this year. I hope for both our sakes that our teams play their first complete game when we go head-to-head. Could make for some awesome football!

Hence the third and fourth rankings.

Arkansas gets the biggest bump when you factor in opponent in regards to their defense, and Auburn on offense. It's pretty substantial for AU (but still below the average amount given up by their opposing defenses), while Arkansas gets a huge boost taking that into consideration.

It's just stupid that we have 3 kickers on scholarship and still have these damn issues.

I always wonder about this, because how many top teams could it be said about? LSU, A&M, Alabama? OSU, Mich State, etc? There's talent enough on those first four alone that a "complete game" would be absolutely terrifying.

A complete game from LSU, Bama, or Ohio State would result in a win 100% of the time if the other team slipped up even one drive. There is no margin of error with the talent that's on those rosters.

Aggy is on their way, but a complete game is impossible with our current LBs I feel.

It's like unforced errors in tennis. It's just stupid correctable stuff, but it's every bit as much a part of the game as everything else. So, you either get them fixed, or you get fixed. Also, the times we are giving up scores on defense, it's typically been mental lapses in coverage giving up big passing plays. I hope the return of Jalen Mills will help with some of that. I've really believed his loss has been more impactful then it appears.

yep hopefully mills helps. I wanna punch the tv every single time special teams is on the field and I know bama fans feel the same way.

I don't understand how the frick both of our team could be filled from top to bottom with 5* talent and still have all of these special team problems especially coverage problems. blows my fricking mind.

and I know A&M fans have to get pissed everytime their lbs are supposed to make a play. Its like cheif took dj welter with him. all that dline talent and nothing in the middle.
