Do you honestly believe that Kentucky has a better defense than Alabama, A&M, and LSU? Because that's what the scoring defense says.

Scoring defense average that you care about in SEC games:
A&M 19
LSU 20
Is there a point to this? Not really. Garbage time Auburn scores skew this a little for now.

Honestly, the most important metric in these SEC games is yards per play and this is what that list looks like.
1 LSU 4.69
2 Florida 4.75
3 Mississippi 4.76
4 Georgia 4.87
5 Missouri 5.17
6 Kentucky 5.32
7 Alabama 5.46
8 Mississippi State 5.52
9 Vanderbilt 5.96
10 Tennessee 6.11
11 South Carolina 6.37
12 Auburn 6.39
12 Texas A&M 6.39
14 Arkansas 6.68
Everybody has given up some big play here or there, but I do agree with another poster that Bama would and probably should be higher outside of at least 1 fluke play.
Offensively, yards per play:
1 Texas A&M 7.01
2 Arkansas 6.74
3 Georgia 6.55
4 LSU 6.52
5 Tenn. 5.60
6 Ole Miss 5.55
7 Alabama 5.38
8 Miss St. 5.29
9 USC 5.23
10 Florida 5.14
11 Kentucky 5.12
12 Auburn 4.84
13 Mizzou 4.62
14 Vandy 4.17
Pretty interesting. Bama measures in the middle of the pack in both. Only LSU and Georgia rank top 5 in both categories here (Ole Miss just misses it). Arky and A&M have top 2 offenses and bottom 2 defenses according to this metric as well. I think it's worth noting that most top defenses have played at least one of the bottom 4 offenses. After analyzing the data some, I would say Florida has the best defense with their impressive games against two top half offenses.
