The best team won in 1997. The last week of the regular season, LSU went to Tuscaloosa only needing to win once to wrap up sole possession of the SEC title. They slept walked through two losses then won game 3. In the SEC tournament, LSU and Bama met in the semis with the winner only needing one more game and the loser having to play 3 more. That game was important to not tire yourself for the next weeks regionals. LSU won. Bama won the SEC title game but Skip never cared about the SEC tournament and they had gotten their work in that week and done what they needed to.
LSU kicked the crap out of Alabama in the national title game. The best team won!

It was probably the most talented college baseball team in history. Had 4 mlb all stars on that team.

I admittedly know jack shite about college baseball history and even I can name Rafael Palmeiro, Will Clark, and Jeff Brantley because he's from Hoover.
What would be some other teams that could be in that debate? Would have to think USC or Miami or some Pac-12 school had some loaded teams back in the day.

Absolutely, I'd be happy to.
Conference Championships-
Vanderbilt: 14
LSU: 14
14=14
Therefore, Vanderbilt has the same number of conference championships as LSU.

Oh they haven't won a single SEC title in football. But they still have the same number of all-time conference championships in football

Same thing I don't get lsu always destroying the tourney. Mainieri is the best sec tourney coach without a doubt. He has won I think 6 or 7
