While it says Auburn's doesn't include basketball, all Auburn sports not named football are free to students

It has its benefits and downfalls.. but it was mostly awesome. For the schools that required you to pay, did that guarantee you a ticket to every game? That's awesome if so..

At SC, it's lottery and seniority based, so as long as you pay your tuition you're eligible to "request" tickets for every game (You'd request at a certain time on a certain day).. so say the game was on Saturday.. you'd request tickets the Sunday prior and find out if you got a ticket that Tuesday/Wednesday. Then you would have to confirm or "accept" your ticket by that Thursday. The higher your classification the more likelier you are to get a ticket (so freshmen having no seniority and very few loyalty points, typically were screwed the first lottery for the first home game because all of the upperclassmen would request of course). Getting a ticket in the first lottery was important because that's typically the lower level of the student section (the most fun area/away from general fans/the wildest area). If you failed to claim your ticket by that Thursday or decided you didn't want to go to the game then you could return it and your ticket would be entered into a second lottery that would usually happen that Thursday evening/Friday before the game (at this point, most underclassmen that wanted to go usually got tickets through the second lottery even if they were in the upper deck). The wrinkle to it all was that you could "build up loyalty or get loyalty points" by attending every football game that you requested and were awarded tickets to. If you requested a ticket, was awarded one, claimed it, and decided not to go without returning your ticket to the lottery for another student you could lose requesting privileges for the entire season. Another trick is that you could also acquire twice as many loyalty points by going to athletic events for non-revenue sports (soccer, volleyball, tennis, softball, WBB etc.). Some school sponsored events, like pep rallies, speakers, etc also awarded loyalty points. Loyalty points leveled the playing field sorta for freshmen.. you could load up on men's and women's soccer games etc. before the beginning of football season and have more loyalty than the typical freshmen, increasing your odds of getting a ticket in the first lottery.

At least that's how it was four years ago when I was a student.. I think they slightly changed the way you request.. but the idea behind it is still the same as far as I know.

It is very awesome. All athletic events are bundled into a student activity fee included on our bill.

My first year was the last year they gave tickets out by hand on a first come first serve basis. I remember people camping out overnight to get tickets with a line of students stretching for a long, long way. For the Florida game that year when Tebow came to town, people were camping out the day before.

The move to the lottery system was much needed.

Basically how it is already here. You add a sports pass and it gets added to your tuition and fees.

That list makes no sense. How do TAMU, Missouri, and Ole Miss justify charging more than Bama, Florida, LSU, Tennessee, and Georgia?

During my time at UA - 06-10, basketball games just required a swipe of the act card

I feel like this would cause a whole lot of complaining as some people don't even go to any of the sporting events. Though I doubt the freshman that still haven't been to our orientation would complain about this as we've already sold out student football tickets and not even all the freshman have gone to orientation yet.

That's a really good question as they also charge us an extra 25$ donation on top of the 130$ for the season tickets.

I remember hearing horror stories about waiting in lines for football games and even a few basketball games from older students when I was a freshman.

Didn't sound fun at all. Definitely takes away from the celebratory pregaming festivities that occur on Thursdays and Fridays before a big game on Saturday.

A&M gives 38-40k to students including prime seats on the 50 yard line. No other school does anything close to that.

This occasionally does come up at SC... but the school has always managed to work around it by calling it a "Student Activity/Extracurricular Fee". So it's not outright being called an athletic fee.. the Athletic Fee is just taken out of an overall Activity Fee. So in a way, you are paying for tickets.. just not out of your pocket. Your paying for it with scholarships/loans/mommy and daddy's credit card because it's in your student fee which is in your tuition.
