South Carolina and Arkansas defenses are garbage.
Georgia would be a good team if their QBs weren't shitty.

Georgia's defense has been really good against bad teams (Vanderbilt, Missouri, Kentucky, Auburn) and not very good against good teams (Alabama, Florida, Tennessee).

UT was bad, but they were ok against UF and Bama. 3 non-offensive TDs in those games.

Didn't see much of UF but Alabama also didn't run a whole lot of plays due to those quick Defensive and Special Teams scores. We averaged 6.0 yards per play, and that includes an entire second half of basically running the ball to bleed the clock.

Or as Gary Danielson has tried to hammer into everyone's head this year - "NOTs".
...we get it Gary. You like acronyms.

We also struggle more against the run than the pass, so the explosive plays statistic is going to be misleading for our defense.

Didn't move the ball particularly well. I mean compared to UGA, they were like the Patriots, but two of their TDs came on a recovered muffed punt in the endzone and a 5 yard drive after a turnover.

We suck against teams that can pass and dominate teams that can't

I always thought the Pruitt as a savior talk was a little much, but he is still a very solid coordinator. If he brings in the kid from McEachern and the kid from Buford to add to Thompson up front then UGA will be pretty good defensively the next few years.

That seems like a statistical oddity that the best team is allowing 10 10+ yards ppg and the worst is only allowing 16.
I would expect that to be a wider margin.

I mean, 6 more 10+ yard plays is quite a few. Assuming half are 12, 1 is 25 and one is 40 yards.......that's almost 100 more yards per game in big plays. And that doesn't include the difference in a team like Alabama giving up 2 yards per standard rush vs a team like USCe giving up 4 yards per standard rush (another 50-60 yards per game).

quote:Yeah really that simple. If we played Texas Tech again I still think it'd be a close game. They'd still score at will. I haven't seen a volume passer all year not have a career game against us. If you insist on running up the middle and only passing as needed you will struggle mightily against the Hogs. Even Bama was on their 20 yard line down 7-3 with a minute to go in the third quarter before they finally broke through.
