Or you could just go here

Well, that site has Alabama #1, so I know it will get ignore even more quickly than these numbers, regardless of their validity.

Especially considering it says Alabama will beat LSU and A&M by 15 and 16 points, respectively.

The problem you have is that you are weighting rankings and not raw #s. There could be .1 game between 3rd and 5th yet a 20 point gap between 5th and 7th.

Still nice work.

LSU is hot trash sans Flournet

And Bama is hotter trash minus Saban.

And the USA is non existent minus Washington.

And the Patriots minus Brady..

This is easy and fun...

Mostly because I simply wanted to avoid dealing with huge numbers. The FCS schools skew things a bit too - otherwise I'd just do yardage differential.

It's simply bad science. The problem with OP's rankings, is that he is taking ordinal values (rankings in a series 1-14) and aggregating them as though they were ratio values.

Any of those can skew, especially when playing games that get out of reach

Yards per play isn't skewed by anything. It's shows how successful your defense or offense is when the ball is snapped regardless of how many plays are ran.

Beat you to it. OP realizes it too.

But it ignores a lot of valuable information like scoring, field position, scenario in the game, etc.
