For some reason, I thought I saw that Garrett was SEC lineman of the week. Maybe I read it wrong though.

Edit: I was correct. Garrett was DL of week. Antonio Morrison from UF was DPOW.

I guess fournette was tired of winning it and gave someone else a shot

I kid. Henry looked really good this weekend. Well deserved

Nothing against Ridley but how did Grier NOT win it?

I dont really care that much but it's silly for someone to win offensive player of the week when they didnt have the best stats.

As pointed out, Antonio Morrison was defensive player of the week.

quote:

DEFENSE
Florida Gators Antonio Morrison, LB, Florida • Recorded 16 tackles in the contest, five of those being unassisted, in the home win over No. 3 Ole Miss. • Contributed 3.5 tackles for a loss of nine yards. • Part of the defensive unit that sacked Ole Miss quarterback Chad Kelly four times, Morrison contributing half a sack to that total.

Grier not being freshman POTW was surprising, although McElwain is probably pretty happy. He seems to be doing everything in his power to keep him grounded.

It's almost as if they took quality of competition into consideration!

You think maybe they took level of competition under consideration?

Yes, Antonio Morrison is in Ole Miss's nightmares. Absolute monster game. My pick for SEC D POY so far with his injury story. Also, Sryker had a great game. But, Morrison deserved the honor and the SEC should have not overlooked him.

Garrett was the Defensive Lineman of the Week. Antonio Morrison (LB, FL) was the Defensive Player of the Week with 16 tackles (5 solo) and 3.5 TFL.

Frankly, I think UK's Cory Johnson got robbed. He had 19 tackles (8 solo), 2.5 TFL, 1 sack and 1 QBH.

In his last two games, he has 30 tackles (11 solo), 3.0 TFL, 1.5 sacks and 1 QBH.

19 tackles for a 3 technique is insane.

Should have been Sean White. He only had four incompletions the whole game.

Ole Miss > Eastern Kentucky maybe just a bit?

Morrison played Ole Miss though and Johnson played Eastern Kentucky. Weight of opponent is definitely taken into account on this sort of thing.

Crazy enough, I didn't even feel like Henry played all that well. He did have a bunch of 5-10 yard runs, but he also had a fumble. I'm surprised he won over guys like Grier, Allen, Collins, and Fournette.
