Did anyone here play offensive lineman at any level? How much bigger do you want your lineman to be for run blocking as opposed to pass blocking? How athletic or fit do you have to be to be a pulling guard? I was really impressed with Arkansas's offensive line this year in fact I thought they did rather amazing. Can that same Oline have pulling guards and great pass blocking or is it mainly "I am much bigger than you , and will run your arse over, and our RB will gain at least 5 yards..." type offensive line?

It's the one area that I am still concerned about for my favorite team, and was curious how everyone in the SEC's Oline is shaping up and your overall expectations of your Oline for the 2015 season will be.

Is anyone returning all five offensive lineman?

Did anyones Oline do pass/run blocking really well?

Is anyone not returning more than 2 starters on the Oline?

Injury situations, etc.

For a sport that is "won in the trenches" how is this side of the trench doing for everyone?

Ole Miss: Laremy Tunsil broke his leg. And some young guys got some experience most notably Rod Tayor a 5* guard we brought in. We really need all the offensive line help we can get and February 4th is coming up!

I actually though Dan Skipper was better at OG than he was at OT this year. He is pretty agile and was brutal when pulling.

No it's Matt Luke trying to figure out what he's doing so horribly wrong.

I know one year UGA had the biggest OL in either college or the NFL and they sucked.

A lot of up tempo spread teams tend to be around 270-290 and a lot of ground and pound tend to go 305-330 ish. Depends on your style of play.

NFL Linemen are fricking massive.

Baylor is an up tempo team but our starting OLine averaged 313 pounds this season. This doesn't even account for the 390lb backup G we have.

LSU returns three starters if I remember correctly.

I played at Oxford High and Ocean Springs, both in Mississippi. Our offensive line was "undersized" to what are now in college and pros. 300 was pretty big. I think for the most versatile dual OLine in college you should have around 300-320. Right tackles should be bigger than most and Left tackles probably around the same. Depends on scheme for interior.

It's not so much about just shear weight and size, it's really about finding the right fit for size, athleticism and mental aptitude.

We're returning 4 guys with starting experience, 3 starters from last year's squad and Mike Matulis is back, he was a FR All American his first year but had some injuries since then.

Our top 5 rushers all avg'd over 5 YPC.
Our QB passed for the most yards in school history.
Our OL was really solid.

Then C we had to start the year got hurt and never really fully recovered from his leg injury. He should be fine by spring camp though. Mike Matulis tore his knee up early in the season. He was a Fr All American at OT, but we had him slated for RG this season. If he heals up well, he could be our LT this coming season.

Ours has been doing well the past couple years, I like our OL coach.

Little guys giving him hell in that pic tho. I'd love to see what happened next. Big guy probably just laid on him.

Nope. He is 6'10", and around 330 lbs.

edit: the other guy is leaning a lot, so he looks smaller than he really is. I'm pretty sure that's a DB he's blocking, so he might be more than a foot shorter. That was from the 2013 season, maybe some MSU fans know who it is?
