Did not know that.

I guess it makes sense for AU though, feast or famine. Could be worse, at least I know AU can be the top team every once in a while.

ETA: Also, it's pretty crazy AU has only had 5 1st round picks since 2007, but has still won the SEC twice and played for 2 titles.

Thanks for sharing.

Regardless of what Bama's players do in the NFL, they own LSU.

Not really. You still have to win ballgames.

How many Vols are expected to get drafted this year?

6. Barnett, Kamara, Dobbs, Sutton, Malone and Reeves-Maybin.

Maybe a Croom, Foreman or Wiesman slips in at the end, but 6 is the likely number with an outside shot at maybe 1 or 2 more.

Tennessee was an NFL machine in the old days. Just 8 years ago the separation was huge:

Tennessee - 320
Alabama - 278

Alabama should add another 10 this year. Will it be enough to make up the 4 by which it trails Tennessee? I don't know anything about UT's draft prospects.

Yep, even dating back to the Majors era and before. Those teams underperformed.

Tennessee had 9 1st round picks from 1980-1989 and 15 top 3 round picks over that span.

Over that same period Georgia had 3 1st round picks and 9 top 3 round picks. Auburn had 6 1st round picks 20 top 3 round picks. Alabama had 6 1st round picks and 12 top 3 round picks.
