Poured my heart and soul into ESPN for last 8 years. Moved my wife and 3 kids to CT to go "all in" 5 years ago. Bummed it ended in 3 minutes

I actually didn't mind him. He had some hater/trolling tendencies but I think he was getting better at this job. Don't really take joy in a guy losing his job.
However, 8 years with one company is actually a pretty long tenure these days.

I will never understand people who celebrate other people losing their job. Unless they did something to personally make your life worse there is no need to be happy about someone losing an opportunity to provide for their family. Grow up.

The hot take at the time was the SEC was leaps and bounds above everyone else, and would any conference ever compete again? And Kanell simply said, that yes the SEC is the best, but people overrate the difference. And he was right, and proven right when in 1 year they regressed to the mean.
He also made it a point to say the SEC was also extremely underrated when it came to basketball, and said their suckage was a hot take as well
The problem is, rednecks ate the SEC love hot take up, and lost their minds when Kanell didnt go all in.

If I didn't care for Kanell's commentary that makes me a petty retarded redneck? And it has nothing to do with his "Anti-Sec" that people believe he promotes.
