Hurts is a true freshman playing the most important position on the field very well for the undefeated #1 team in the country. If he maintains this level of play and Alabama keeps winning, it will be him easily.

So if both players maintain their respective levels of production, Hurts beats the guy averaging a first down per carry?

I get the point about playing a more important position, but it should be Williams if that scenario plays out.

That RB is not going to average a first down per carry for the entire year.

It's highly unlikely.

But I'll just wait for that to happen. It's not like he's played the sisters of the poor. UCLA, Auburn and Arkansas. Probably the best schedule of any team to-date.

As a QB with a potential national championship team and the pressure that goes with that? Absolutely.

It depends on who plays better when aTm plays Bama. Perhaps it isn't the way it should be, but it is the way it is. Back in my day there was an expression we used,"freshmen get you beat". Either of these players can cost their teams the game when they play.

Back in the day black kids couldn't even play at SEC schools. Tennessee was a consistent SEC contender back then.
