1. Lane Kiffin, Alabama

quote:

Kiffin, who struggled as a head coach in college and in the NFL, has turned Alabama’s traditional run-heavy offense into a blend of classic and modern schemes as its offensive coordinator.

2. Dan Enos, Arkansas

quote:

Enos, who previously led Central Michigan, made a big splash in his first season with the Razorbacks. Former quarterback Brandon Allen flourished and turned a classic run-based offense into a legitimate threat in the intermediate passing game. New QB Austin Allen will look to continue that success.

3. Noel Mazzone, Texas A&M

quote:

Mazzone has been an offensive coordinator for 17 years at the Power 5 level. He has coached talented quarterbacks including Philip Rivers of the San Diego Chargers and Josh Rosen of UCLA. With Mazzone and transfer quarterback Trevor Knight leading the Aggies, there’s a lot of buzz in College Station.

4. Doug Nussmeier, Florida

quote:

Although coach Jim McElwain got much of the credit for Florida’s big 2015 season, which included an SEC East title, Nussmeier’s ability to get the most out of a playmaker-deficient offense was a huge reason for the team’s success.

5. Dan Werner, Ole Miss

quote:

Despite turning Bo Wallace into an all-league-caliber player and helping Chad Kelly adapt to life in the SEC, Werner’s true worth came last season when Freeze turned over play-calling duties to the veteran offensive coordinator. From that point, the Rebels were tough to stop.

I will believe it when I see it with Mazzone. If he's truly the third best offensive assistant in the SEC then there are a lot of unproven offensive staffs in this conference

I thought his UCLA offenses were way too predictable and they didn't make the most out of Brett Hundley's talent

3 and 4 are both questionable to me. I think they put Mazzone on that list partly becuase they know A&M should still have an explosive offense.

Yeah I was not too crazy about the hire. I think we will improve over last year but we need to do more than that to really take the next step. I was never a fan of his UCLA offenses

Cam Cameron had the only offense in SEC history to have a 3,000 yd passer, 1,000 yd rusher & two 1,000 yd receivers.

He wasn't that good at Bama. How much of Florida is his offense? Serious question. Bama fans were not upset at all when he left.

Not saying Nussmeier is a bad OC or anything, but was his offense really a key factor in Florida winning the East?

Yeah I don't understand Nussmeier being on that list. Statistically, Florida's offense was worse in 2015 than it was in Muschamp's last season.

They also finished sixth in the SEC in points-per-game that year.

No offense to the sensitive bama fans, but is it really hard to be a good OC with the best talent?

When they had Grier it was undeniably better than any Muschamp offense

Can we call Mike DeBord the worst offensive assistant?

How can you say that and have his his predecessor at OC on the same list? Has he improved the offense, of course. But it's been more about development and play calling than anything scheme wise.
