Alabama

Conference: Auburn
Non-Conference: Notre Dame

30 years ago, Tennessee would be the major conference rival, but Auburn's ascendancy and the East/West conference split have neutered the importance of that game. No one under 50 really thinks UA-UT is that big a deal anymore. It kind of mimics the defusing of the Auburn-Georgia rivalry. Games against Florida (since the Spurrier era)and LSU (since 2007) have been intense, but few fans would point to them as rivals in the way you think about Auburn.

Notre Dame is our archetype rival more in the sense of bragging rights for the greatest program in the history of college football, rather then as an on the field rival. The last few seasons on top of the history of the program have now effectively settled the issue for most people. UA has kind of separated themselves from the pack (ND, Michigan, USC, Texas, and Oklahoma)

LSU
Conference: Alabama/Arkansas/Texas A&M
Non-Conference: Tulane

Um, no. Your obsession with LSU is flattering (Clemson logo anyone?). As soon as you see LSU fans sporting the team logo for a school that beats Arkansas (pick a sport) then you might be onto something.

LSU has considered Alabama its biggest rival in football since Saban got there. Bama does not necessarily share the sentiment, but that happens when you have the resume that Bama does. LSU's traditional rival is Ole Miss, and if Freeze makes the Black Bears relevant again you will see things heat up on both sides.

I would rank LSU's rivals in this order:
1. Alabama (in the longrun will be replaced by A&M)
2. TexA&M (will switch spots with Bama in the longrun)
3. Auburn
4. Ole Miss
5. Arkansas
6. Florida (arguably could be at #4 or #5 ahead of either/both OleMiss/Arky.

And LSU does not have a non-conference "rival" IMO.
