I was shocked by how terrible Bert has been against ranked teams.

And what about Butch Jones? 1-16?!

*Records based on outcomes of contests against ranked teams at time of game.

I really hate to say this but its pretty unfair to Butch (and some others) to include their records at small schools against the big boys.

That's a fair point. Take Mullen for instance. Yes, he is only 5-27 against ranked teams, but he had to play all of those games while coaching at State.

If you want to parallel the list I posted, but use end of year rankings, then you need to consider the records of each coach since 2005, and also bring in their records at previous schools.

Butch Jones is the greatest 1-16 vs. ranked teams coach in SEC history.

Should be based off teams that finished in the top 25 not in the top 25 at the time of the game

Maybe. Sounds like too much work though.

Because the list is about the records of each SEC coach against ranked teams since 2005.

Anyone care to post Saban's record since 2008? That 07 team wasn't ready for big boy football. They played hard but the talent level was abysmal.

Is that their record against teams that finished the season ranked or was ranked at the time that they played them? There's a pretty big distinction between the two.

The title doesn't specify.
