Do most people realize that SEC teams are consistently placed with teams that are higher in their respective conference's standings?

Auburn was like 5th or 6th in the SEC and Wisconsin was 2nd in the Big 10.
Ole Miss was like 3rd or 4th in the SEC while TCU was tied for 1st in the Big 12.
Miss State was 2nd or 3rd in the SEC while Ga Tech was 2nd in the ACC.

The disparity between the SEC and other conferences is closer this year but the SEC is still the better conference.

All those "better" SEC teams lost to all those other teams.

SEC West sucks.

It's been that way for years.

I turns out this wasn't "the year of Mississippi," it was just the first year in a long time when auburn and lsu sucked simultaneously.

That's not how it is anymore.

The CFP committee selects the big 6 games.

Then Citrus bowl selects its teams, ink rule is it must take the big10 cCG and sec CCG losers once every 6 years.

Then the sec office works with the other conferences and schools to place the next 6 bowls. Outback, belk, music city etc. to find best game matchups and atmosphere . There is not a pecking order anymore.

I don't care about the East. In all honesty, I'd be happy as a lark if UGA was the only team from the SEC to win. I just can't say the East sucks right now because it's on the way to being 3-0. Will be sure to update a scathing critique of the SEC's total suckage if things go sideways for UF and UTk tomorrow, though.

There is only one bowl where the SEC is on an even seed, the cap one. All others we're a lower seed.

No other conference has this challenge.

And it's nothing new. It's been this way for years.

Well using that logic, your second best team is currently taking on tB1G's 5th best, but I see you conveniently left that out of your argument.

You swimming in the Nile. Miss St was 2nd, and Ga Tech was 2nd. Ole Miss was 3rd, TCU was 2nd. Wisconsin was 3rd and Auburn 5th. LSU was 6th and ND was ??? Last week of regular season Ga Tech (2nd) beat Georgia who is 4th in SEC.

Ga Tech beat #2 and #4 in SEC.

Wrong

Ga Tech was division champs and 2nd overall in the ACC CONFERENCE. Miss State was 2nd in it's DIVISION.

TCU was co-champs of the BIG XII CONFERENCE, Ole Miss was 3rd in the SEC West DIVISION.

Wisconsin was champs of the Big10 West and 2nd in the CONFERENCE. Auburn was 4th (not 5th btw) in the West DIVISION.

Bowl seeding has nothing to do ranking.

How quickly you guys have forgotten the sec east's performance in rivalry week

Definitely a strange vibe in the SEC to close the season. And definitely an epic collapse of west perception

It's real simple...just win the SEC champ game against the sorry west representative. Problem solved.

Bowl games are a pretty bad gauge really. Teams wait up to 5 weeks before they play....way too much time. Anything can happen.

I mentioned the teams that lost. Like I said this happens consistently every year with bowl placement but it's not "always" the case.
