The SEC had 12 teams in the bowl games, the most of any conference, 6_6 record with 1 game remaining. Take the Big 6 record of 5-1 and it looks a whole lot better. The bottom teams in the SEC were pretty shitty in bowl games 1-5 with MSST the only winner.

Big 12 had its top 6 go to bowls. 4-2. They were 1-1 vs Big 6 members. 10-2 OU beat 8-4 AU. 6-6 TCU lost to 7-5 UGA.: Tamu lost to KState making them 2-1 vs SEC as a whole.

BIG10 had 10 teams 4-6 records. However their lower ranked teams where the winners

Their top 6 teams, OSU, Mich, PSU, Wisc,Iowa and Nebraska 1-5 record with Wisc as the only winner , they beat Western Michigan.

B10 has to be be the biggest loser

ACC 11 teams 7-4 recorD with 1 to go, Top 6 teams 4-2 .

PAC12 6 teams 3-3

Really the only conference that could claim to be as good or better as the SEC is the ACC. With B12 nipping at the heals.

The title game will decide that.

SEC isn't as down as the National media wants everyone to believe. It's not as strong as years past but still the top of sport. I expect next year will be an even better year in the SEC with more experience at the QB position for a lot of teams.

I dunno. Slice it however you want to but this was a "down" year for the SEC. It just was.

Went to Bourbon St last night after the game and the OU fans were chanting SEC the whole time. A lot of SEC envy out there.

I think the NFL draft is a better gauge than bowl games. So many uneven matchups in bowl games and so many teams that just don't give AF for whatever reason.

For instance, the 8th best team in the SEC could play the 5th best team in another conference and lose and that isn't taken into account.

The SEC doesn't have many good QBs. We are down.

Yeah, I know but I addressed it in the OP. NOT as bad as people would like to say, though.

It's down a year for the SEC when the SEC doesn't dominate as usual. Says alot about the high level competition in the SEC.

OR how about 6-6 USCe taking on 10-2 USF and 8-4 AU taking on 10-2 Oklahoma.

Some of these bowl matchups were dogshit.

I will say this.

I believe the ACC was the best conference in College football this year from top to bottom.

I'd say the top level of the SEC did dominate the bowl games.

The only loss is 8-5 AU vs 11-2 OU.

An unfavorable bowl schedule doesn't help things either, but we as a conference are expected to be deep every year and this year we just weren't.

What we need to do is change this to the Big 4, only people with 10+ sec titles.

So, take out UF and AU? They've had what, 3 NCs in the past 10 years between them. Nope, Big 6. If you want to change it; then it would be the Big 1 Bama, the group of 5 and the rest.

Yep, nice spin attempt but the ACC was definitely the better conference this season even if Clemson loses.

With the parity in college football and considering that many bowl games are uneven mismatches, .500 should be an expected outcome for any conference.

The SEC has created a standard where 6-6 is terrible and indicates the death of the conference however.

ETA: Its also amazing to me how whimsical people are with this "best conference" argument. Two weeks ago it was the Big-10 no question. Now it's the ACC. While the SEC has shown at least a decade of consistency in recruiting, draft numbers and multiple National Championships by different programs.
