Alabama needs to stop with the midweek game in Montgomery every year. Only one win in eight or nine years and nothing to gain from that long/slow arse ride down 82.

That was FSU's first run scored in 36 innings against UF.

Don't know why Bama plays Auburn in Montgomery. Just forfeit the game, it would be less embrassing then losing to them there EVERY year.

Eh, just a midweek game. We've won more than we've lost in actual conference games against them since they started that silliness in Montgomery.

What's with all the bama fans being down on playing their arch-rival in a neutral site game?
So its now only a "silly" game when Bama can't ever win it? Why'd Bama agree to play it in the first place? Were you Bama fans regarding your Iron Bowl football wins in neutral Birmingham as "silly" back in the 1960s and '70s?
Not really familiar with the history of this game being played in Montgomery... but from an outsider, Bama fans are looking like sore losers this morning. Something tells me Bama fans wouldn't be clamoring to drop this game and calling it "silly" had their team won last night.

I don't know. Why are you such an Auburn apologist and so obsessed with Alabama?
Posted on 3/29/17 at 9:06 am to BHMKyle
Because Auburn whips that arse every year.

Just calling it as I see it. The only whiny fan base I see this morning is Bama. If it were one poster, it would just be a whiny poster.... but this sore loser mentality seems to be systemic.

FYI I've not seen any LSU fans screaming to drop their annual game against Tulane despite their team losing to the Green Wave last night. Maybe Bama fans could get some pointers from LSU on acting like real men and not whining so much.

Alabama is 1-8 in this game. Yet has routinely gone on to take the season series from AU.
Midweek games in general have been a scourge. Especially against the likes of UAB, Samford, and Troy.
But sore losers, it's hard to be a sore loser if you haven't had any real success beforehand. Or none of any significance since 2010.

Then it sounds like your issue is midweek games in general. I think its fairly common for good teams to drop midweek games. Typically the big name programs are starting a pitcher with little experience, while the mid-major team is often starting their best pitcher. I think most anyone realizes that losing midweek games just happens from time to time in college baseball.
But if the issue is midweek games in general, why is there such a demand to drop the one in Montgomery?

Bama brought in their Friday night starter to pitch late in the game last night so obviously it was a little bit important to them.

It is a huge crowd (largest ever at that stadium), the cheerleaders, mascots, etc. are all there so it is a different environment than a normal game.
It promotes baseball in the state.
What I do not understand is why they also do not play a game at Regions Field in Bham every other year. Wait, maybe because they get the SEC tournament there every year.

I'd like to see it alternate between Regions Park and Montgomery, but I understand the Montgomery Barners love it and that's why we're playing it in the first place.
