It's that time once again for my annual SEC Rant thread about the SEC Baseball Tournament's location in an out of date, terribly located excuse of a baseball facility...all because a vocal minority of RV owners can't be inconvenienced.

With a plethora of outstanding minor league parks throughout the states that make up the best conference in college baseball it's a shame that this showcase is relegated to a high school football stadium in suburbia.

Move it around, or establish a new site that will attract more fans. Or just move it 15 miles north to Regions Field. Anything is better than Hoover.

Good lord, who even cares?

It's a baseball tournament. While I enjoy baseball, it's just not a big deal. There are only about three schools that would travel for it at all.

The nearest restaurant to the stadium is the publix sandwich shop 2 miles away.

I've enjoyed my trips to Hoover. No complaints here. I hope it stays there.

STFU and deal with it. Only reason you don't like it is because you're an LSU fan and hate Alabama.

The met is a minor league baseball stadium. Hoover just happens to play a lot of their home football games there.

Baseball is a family sport.
The SEC baseball tournament is a family event.
Hoover is a family friendly area.
Nobody wants to march their small kids halfway across downtown Memphis or New Orleans past a bunch of hobos because there's no where to park, just to appease the alcoholics from Louisiana that want to stumble from the LSU game straight to a bar because they're already too drunk to drive the 10 minutes from Hoover to downtown Birmingham.

What does that matter if you aren't part of the RV crowd?

Drive 3 miles. Or 5. Or stretch it to 15, and you've got literally hundreds to choose from.

There's nothing near the stadium. Last time I went, we got there morning of the game and just sat on the curb passing a fifth of Jim Beam because nothing was open near by

The SEC Baseball Tournament being in Hoover is the best overall experience.

PARKING is the best at any sporting event I've ever been.

Birmingham sucks. I means it's terrible. I would be pissed if they moved it there.

My biggest complaint is the single elimination double elimination BS format that it is right now. It basically hurts teams more than it helps.

I'd be fine with them playing it at Regions Field or Riverwalk Stadium.

And I don't think it should be at the Shrine on Airline in Metairie.

Because on the days that there's games all day, I'd like to be able to take a break from baseball, walk nearby and eat, and then back to the stadium.

Are RVs even a thing for people under the age of 60?

Sounds like all the whining in this thread has come from the results of poor planning. You can set up shop in the parking lot and drink all fricking day. Bring a cooler, bring some food, sandwiches, etc.

Hoover ain't the Middle East.
Atmosphere with all the fans from all over is awesome and what makes the event so awesome. Stop bitching and just enjoy it for what it is

I've gone for the entire week more than once and setup as you described along the back tree line of parking spots.

And I contend you don't lose that by moving it to downtown Birmingham, Pensacola, etc.
