Not only is the SEC dominant on Saturdays, but the league also flexes its muscles on NFL Sundays.
The SEC had a heavy contingent once again as the Top 100 Players of 2017 is being revealed once again by NFL Network.
The list, which is voted on by NFL players, rates the top 100 players in the league. The top 10 will be released at 8 p.m. ET on Monday.
SEC schools Georgia and Alabama led the way with alumni on the list, pegging five players apiece.
Georgia is represented by Cincinnati wide receiver A.J. Green, who is No. 17; Detroit quarterback Matthew Stafford at 31; Cincinnati defensive tackle Geno Atkins at 68; Kansas City linebacker Justin Houston at 76; and Carolina linebacker Thomas Davis at 89. Georgia also had the most players on the 2016 list with six.
Alabama had only one player make the list in 2016, but this year, Atlanta wide receiver Julio Jones (who made the top 10 and will have his spot revealed on Monday), is joined by New York Giants safety Landon Collins at 28; Oakland wide receiver Amari Cooper at 53; Green Bay safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix at 77; and New England linebacker Dont’a Hightower at 94.
In all, the SEC landed 23 players on the list, compared to 19 from the Big Ten, 15 from the Pac-12, 14 from the ACC and 11 from the Big 12.
Four schools had four players apiece on the list, as Oklahoma, Stanford, USC and Wisconsin tied for third place.
LSU and Texas A&M were among a group of six schools that had three players.
For the Tigers, New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is in the top 10, Arizona cornerback Patrick Peterson is 19; and Miami wide receiver Jarvis Landry is 42.
For the Aggies, Denver defensive end Von Miller is in the top 10, Tampa Bay wide receiver Mike Evans is 29; and Seattle defensive end Michael Bennett is 46.
Mississippi State was one of 13 schools to place two players on the list, as Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott was rated No. 14 and Philadelphia defensive tackle Fletcher Cox was 38th.
Auburn’s lone representative is quarterback Cam Newton, who is 44th after being rated first in 2016.
Florida (Atlanta cornerback Janoris Jenkins, 54), South Carolina (Houston defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, 49), Tennessee (Kansas City safety Eric Berry, 13) and Vanderbilt (San Diego cornerback Casey Hayward, 64) also had one player on the list.

I like Dak, but 14th overall seems a bit high to me.

Well there goes another myth concerning Alabama and the NFL. A college football-leading five players on the NFL Top 100 Players list.

That was quite possibly the crappiest layout for a list I've ever seen.

SEC pro players are WAAAY overhyped.

Sorry your pro players suck.

Seeing as this ranking was put together by NFL players themselves I'd say you're a fricking idiot.

I wonder how many players vote and which ones take it seriously.

I'm thinking of bringing the old TideSaint back.
I haven't knocked a moron's dick in the dirt for a few months now.
This arse hat is as good a candidate as anyone else.

That list is BS every year. The only reason why guys like Clay Matthews makes it every year. Jordan Howard as a rookie ran for 1300 yards with the mediocre Bears while Blount averaged 3.9 YPC. But Blount made the list because he plays for the Patriots. Same goes for Edelman making the list over a guy like Mike Thomas. It's a popularity and stats driven list just like the Pro Bowl.

You're not knocking anyone's dick in the dirt. Even if you had one you couldn't find it to do so.

Sounds like you just hate the Patriots.

I certainly don't hate the Patriots. But Jordan Howard was better than Blount or Devota Freeman yet he doesn't make the list. My point was since Howard is a rookie who plays on a bad team (unlike Blount and Freeman who play on the most prominent teams) he doesn't get the recognition he deserves. Also Aaron Donald should be a top 10 guy but he's not listed as one. According to PFF Cam Jordan is an elite player yet he's not listed at all. One again why else are guys like Clay Matthews or even Dez Bryant listed if they haven't been that good in 2-3 years?
