Screw the NCAA mess. I'm more mad about the Engram snub.

I realize he's not the prototypical TE, but he plays the position and does just fine in the traditional blocking role. As a receiving TE, he's unmatched.

How the frick is he not a Mackey finalist?

Finalists and their stats:
OJ Howard - 30 recs for 359 yds
Jake Butt - 38 recs for 460 yds
Jordan Leggett- 31 for 350 yds

Engram has 65 catches for 926 yards (which leads the conference in receiving yards). He also has 10 TDs...as many as the 3 finalists combined.

Hate OM all you want, but this is too much. It's horse shite.

I guess they categorize him as a WR. Big time snub, no question about it.

Maybe they'll make a 30 for 30 about him

I didn't realize he wasn't a finalist. That's fricked up.

Because he had an unfair advantage of having a QB who could look in two directions at once

I agree! Engram should have been on the list.

65 catches for a TE in cfb is ridiculous.

You have a legitimate complaint OP. But make no mistake, OJ Howard will have an outstanding NFL career. His talent has been under utilized in Tuscaloosa. Engram has had a more productive college career though.

It's because Evan voted to MAGA. Had he voted for crooked like the rest of them he would be a finalist

He's the best TE in college football IMO. Do not know how often or how well he run blocks.

I am curious to know how often he is lined up in a typical WR position vs out of 3 point stance next to the tackle.

Engram is the best pass catching TE in the country.

However, as others have said, I wonder how many basically look at him as a slot receiver. He doesn't block and he lines up off the ball quite frequently.

Still, he's technically a tight end, and I'm guessing others like him have won that award before. He should be on the list at the very least.

This is my only gripe when people talk about him. He really isn't a TE but that is nothing against him because he is still a great receiver. He did get screwed.

The Jimmy Graham effect . TE not considered a TE . Until it was time to pay him , then he was considered as such . So yea snub .

He's not a full time tight end.

He's a great wideout at times, his blocking is meh.
