Said it on the SEC Network today.

The other hosts questioned him and he said that Ohio St. - Michigan is not competitive and Alabama - Auburn is not consistent. For year-in-year-out significance, LSU-Alabama is tops.

He is speaking of national perception, of course.

Discuss.

Iron Bowl and LSU-Alabama don't even equal the greatness that is the Egg Bowl.

I see the significance argument, but that can change.

It's a big rivalry, but not as big as LSU-Bama's schedule.

US vs. Soviet Union during the Cold War is the most comparable.

Explains Ole Miss's recent attempt to put State into a spending war.

Dude is a Big 10 yankee. I think his show is the best in the biz..........but he is a Big 10 yankee.

When bama fans start killing shite that belongs to LSU, then and only then will it be a true rivalry.

I'm eating something called Ritz Toasted Chips and they taste like crap. That is what someone who compares the Alabama/LSU annual game to great rivalries like Alabama/Tenn or Alabama/auNeck is, crap.

LSU is new money bullshite. How in the hell can a lower tier opponent of Alabama, SEC wise, be a major rivalry of the Tide?

Sure, since Saban revived LSU and dragged them out of irrelevance, it's been a pretty good competition between the two teams.

But, no way is LSU seen as a really important team by the majority of Alabama fans.

That is because Alabama fans are crazy.

No one cares about Alabama-Tennessee. That game has been irrelevant for years.

Alabama-Auburn rarely means anything at all except for last year and in 2010. Other than that, it is rare that both teams are really good.

SVP is talking about national perception about what is actually important and the quality of football being played. You are right. That concept is probably lost on the majority of Alabama fans.

As for "new money bull shite," whatever, man. Just another example of how your entire perception of college football begins and ends with Alabama and nothing else.

I am not that interested in what the "majority of Alabama fans" think. You are talking about a fairly ignorant group of people with that population sample.
