Les Miles?

See that list? Assuming LSU fires Miles, they are all out of the SEC now and there are 6 national championships and even more division and SEC titles in that list. Heck, throw in Tuberville with his SEC titles and undefeated season. Two of those are for sure hall of fame level coaches and two more are in the conversation and yet not one of them could dominate Saban on either the field or the recruiting trail.

A new coach may improve LSU. It may make them worse. The one thing it will not do is worry Alabama fans one little bit as long as Nick is walking our sideline.

Seems to be a whole lot of anger directed at LSU for terminating Miles. I get that he's a great guy and good for the conference, hell that's what makes this so tough. But take away the sound bites, the one liners and the funny talk and you've got a guy that runs a pretty sloppy team.

Ya'll ALL know this and you've seen it for years. Miles isn't a bad guy but he's a mediocre coach that is living off of a lot of talent - that he recruited. But it's not holding up, eventually you have to coach and we're tired of the sloppy, undisciplined, disorganized style of football that we're now playing. It's ugly and we want it to change.

For the Bama posters, don't flatter yourselves, this isn't about losing to Bama, it's more about being 0-3 in November and frankly shitting the bed nearly EVERY November.

Will our next coach be better than Miles? We hope. But after 11 years we know what's not going to change - Les Miles - and that is a song we're tired of hearing.

We love the guy and wish him well, but it's time to move on.

Nailed it.

Les Miles has been a huge part of the SEC landscape for 11 years. As silly as it may sound to some, football means a lot to a lot of people. When you keep up with someone for 11 years - someone who has earned your respect and someone you genuinely enjoy watching coach the game, it's a big deal when they get hamstringed. It's an even bigger deal when that coach is a future CFB Hall of Famer. It's the biggest story in sports right now.

Because it is the biggest story in the SEC right now?

And for good reason, because it's pretty ridiculous to fire him for not being Nick Saban.

Haha. You're a broken record dude. Continuing to repeat this doesn't make it true. Tell me this. If Saban retired tomorrow, list for me in order the current SEC coaches that you would hire to lead your beloved Tide. If you say Miles is in your top 3, I call you a liar.

This is a frickin business, he had a good run and made a lot of money doing it. It's not Bama or anyone else's business why he and LSU are parting ways.Theres more to it than losing to Bama

Alabama fans are traditionalists at heart.

Frankly, when Les Miles leaves, part of what made the Alabama/LSU game so epic is gone. It used to be the battle of two well-established coaches. Two coaches who love their program and their team, who believe in playing smash mouth football, who coach their teams to both win and lose with integrity. Now you are potentially introducing Jimbo Fisher, who is a total clown, into that dynamic, and what you get for Alabama fans is just another game.

Not an L5U fan but living here and half my family being L5U fans and alums I would say it does. If anything before the fire Les movement finally took of this year I would say this site was probably more pro Miles than the reality.

Hmm. Okay. Given your name -- and the fact that you call them L5U -- I imagine you have no particular interest in defending them, so your opinion actually carries more weight to me.

So do you eat smoked croc on Thanksgivings you spend with that half of your family, or is that just one of those crazy rumors about Cajuns?

Sorry for having an opinion on the biggest story so far this year in SEC football on an SEC football message board.

It's true. He has lived in Saban's shadow since he got in Baton Rouge and even said as much in an ESPN magazine article in 2012. No coach could live up to constantly being compared against Saban at Bama.

You see how he won't answer my question either. The truth is, Les is a great person, a great ambassador for the school, a great recruiter......but just a good to average coach (for a myriad of reasons) that is way overpaid for the product he puts on the field. He's been trending down for a while now.

All these other fans can cry a fcking river about Les getting fired, but not one of top 1/2 SEC fan bases would replace Miles with their current head coach.

They directly asked him if it bothered him, the Saban comparisons and at first he said no, paused and then said "Maybe a little."

Nailed what exactly, you guys are so quick to call out other fanbases and programs on different topics and issues. When narrative shift and the spotlight is on you, basically you guys Cannibalize each other. This ain't about firing Les, or the nice check he will get. It's about treading with integrity having a chest as tiger fans always proclaim. In three f#%king weeks you guys pride was stripped, fans/players quit on each other and openly looking for a coach while season is still in play. Well done LSU.......Well done.
