I cannot blame Saban for leaving LSU in '04 for the NFL. The Dolphins threw a boatload of money at him and he imagined himself as a great NFL coach. Had the LSU job been available again two years later, I'd bet all he had to do was a mea culpa and LSU would've taken him back.

This isn't what Russillo said. They were talking about the LSU coaching search. Kanell got his panties in a wad when there was discussion about Jimbo leaving FSU for LSU. He went so far as to ask, "Do you think LSU is a better coaching job than FSU?"
Russillo countered with saying that sometimes it's not just about the coaching job itself, sometimes it's about enjoying the place you live. Said maybe Fisher just enjoyed living in Baton Rouge and Louisiana more. Then he mentioned how there were rumors that Saban never truly wanted to leave BR and that he loved living there, but he just couldn't turn down the pros. Even pointed out that Bama fans were gonna get pissed at him for saying it. He never said Saban like LSU better than Bama.

Dammit 24 quit giving L5U fans false hope. Next thing you know they'll be saying goes things like Saban wants to come back to L5u but is too old to start over again. That they're his favorite and blah blah. They'll use it to help ease the pain when they hire a dud. Well we could've had Saban again but it just didn't work out cause he old.
