If you will remeber correctly the last time Auburn came to Starkville their bus had a flat tire in Tuscaloosa and they had to spend a few hours on side on interstate before they were up and running.

No idea they are so close. Just an hour and a half. Like Houston and College Station in distance.

FUN FACT: Alabama and State are the two geographically closest schools in the SEC.

I'm from Texas, so I really struggle to understand the concept of being close to an out-of-state school. Don't even get me started on Europe.

Well, it sort of helps that both schools are relatively close to the Alabama-Mississippi line.

Hasn't Mississippi State played Alabama more times than any other SEC school. I know the numbers in the 90's

Someone needs to send Nick Marshall, Cameron Artis-Payne, and Duke Williams some hookers and a few grams of coke.

Close to 100 times. 97 or 98.

A huge part of it is that around the turn of the 20th century, it wasn't a very painful trip for either team to make, particularly in a time where the South as a whole was pretty dirt poor.
