1. Florida - back to #1
4. Texas A&M - steady at 4 for some time now. Not able to catch Miami or be caught by Ole Miss.
5. Ole Miss
7. LSU
8. South Carolina - jumped by a few schools. National Seed looking bad with Clemson skyrocketing.
9. Vanderbilt - should be a lock to be the SEC's 7th host spot.
11. Mississippi St

Only once in the last 10 years has a 20-win SEC team with a Top 10 RPI not been a national seed. #Gamecocks may become the second.

I would be mildly surprised if we get 3.

I would be shocked if its 5.

I fully expect 4.

I've openly stated LSU deserves it more than us.

I assume that isn't counting the SECT games. If you did then you have...
A&M with 23
UF with 22
LSU with 22
OM with 21
USC with 20
Vandy with 20

And they all have top 10 RPIs.

I think most are assuming 4. The big question is if it's LSU, OM, or USCe.

Who gets it and why?

Thanks, Farmer.

In scanning the NCAA Baseball Championship Host Operations Manual (for the "Preliminary Rounds"), the bolded bullet is the issue that could be problematic for the SEC. Certainly not news to anyone, but I was curious to see what their official guidelines are.
quote:

CRITERIA - REGIONAL SITE SELECTION
In addition to the criteria listed in Bylaw 31, the Division I Baseball Committee reviews the following criteria when selecting regional sites:

• Regionals may take place at on-campus or approved alternate sites.

The committee shall attempt to place regional tournaments so that maximum national balance can be obtained, preferably at least one regional in each of the eight Division I baseball regions.

• Prospective host institutions must submit a minimum financial guarantee of $50,000, which shall be 75 percent of the estimated net receipts as submitted on the hosting proposal (online proposed budget and financial report form).

• Once the guarantee is met, the committee shall consider additional criteria as listed in Bylaw 31, such as quality and availability of the facility and other necessary accommodations, attendance history and potential and geographical location.

• Lights are highly recommended at all prospective regional sites. These lights should meet the NCAA standards found at: https://www.ncaa.com/news/ncaa/article/2013-11-21/ncaa-best-lighting-practices.

• The committee will consider previous crowd control and behavior of the prospective host institution

How many times has a top 10 SEC divisional Championship team not been a national seed and the runner up get one of the top 8 national seeds?
