Steve Robertson, the MSU fan blogger that dug into this. I think his best work was finding out that the female superfan from Ole Miss was actually a middle aged guy that had stolen some pics from a student at Georgia Southern.
We call him Rose Bowl mockingly because prior to the 2001 football season, he went all in with an MSU will make the Rose Bowl (the national title game that year). We went 3-8. He's been Rose Bowl Robertson ever since. He's your typical "fandom before everything" fan. Lost his job, house and wife over his fandom over the years.
