I would be much more concerned walking past Tutwiler, than the demolition of Rose. Of course when they demolish Tutwiler, everything east of Tuscaloosa all the way to the African mainland will probably come done with the clap

Don't know but the few times I was in there during my time at UA the stench was almost unbearable.

I used to be an RA at Paty back in the 80's. A few years ago when I had the family on campus for a ball game, I says to them... "let's walk in here and see where Dad used to live."
I barely made it in the door when it hit me. If such a thing is possible, the smell of teenage mansweat has gotten exponentially worse in the last 25 years.

From what I've heard, at one time the plan was for all of those old dorms to be destroyed and replaced. But with the student body expanding as rapidly as it has, it simply wasn't feasible to raze them within the original time frame.

Rose Towers was originally contracted as housing for "married students." It was the first "apartments" on campus. By the time I was there in the mid 70s single students could live there.

I lived there from '03-'05. The football team was still housed there, until the renovations of Bryant Hall were finished. One of the more entertaining evenings was when the building was evacuated because Jimmy Barnes caught his kitchen on fire.

Lived in Paty Hall my freshman year. Lived in room #420. Not a week went by that somebody didn't knock on the door just to say "Nice room number, man"

This is just a wild guess but maybe paty hasn't come down because of the labs downstairs? And I lived in rose my first year here. Glad to see that eyesore gone
