Virginia hasn't been good since George Welsh was coach. He was a consistent winner, usually about 7-8 games a year and he's still a legend there. That's all they really want is a coach that will get them bowl games and 7-8-9 wins a year, perfect for Richt.
Miami is a shite hole and I don't think they'll be able to get a good coach to come there.

Miami is perfect for his lack of control. Will be Jimmy Johnson all over again

He would do well at UVA and I think he would like Charlottesville. I've always felt UVA could have the same kind of success that VT had if they had the right coach.

I have said this for years
If Uva took their football seriously they would hire him.
They will probably go cheap and hire some idiot assistant no one has heard about.

Too old to start over, IMO.
Family is all settled in GA and thats where his two youngest kids are still in high school. Most likely move is he just takes some time off to spend with his family or he takes the new AD of Football Operations position that would be created for him.
ETA: Doesn't mean he wouldn't return to coaching eventually, but I don't know that he'd just pick up and leave Athens in January. Very invested in student support, academics, and the Paul Oliver Network he created here at UGA.

That's actually a great idea. Culturally he'd do real well there. Only thing is they have a lot of really flaming liberals running the show, and I think there will be pressure to hire a person not of the caucasian race.

He was forced out, is a quality coach, and there are lots of opportunities coming open. A school like Virginia would kill to have 8-10 win seasons. I understand why GA made a change, but lots of schools would want this guy.

There are two kinds of people at UVA: 1. stupid rich and fancy old Virginia bluebloods, and 2. flaming to the core to the left of joseph stalin liberals.
Type 1 thinks its cute to wear bow ties and go watch a football game, but they really don't CARE enough about it to field a quality team because Type 2 is openly adversarial towards football and the white privileged culture that glorifies it.

Type 2 can't be helped. Winning would change Type 1's attitude in a heart beat.
