Spurrier points to schedules

South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier couldn’t resist noting that the two teams in the SEC Championship game enjoyed favorable regular-season schedules.

“Alabama had the easiest schedule in the West division side, and Georgia had the easiest on our side,” Spurrier told The State newspaper of Columbia, S.C., on Monday. “I find it very interesting, and I haven’t seen anybody really write about (it).

Don't like what he has to say? Truth hurts sometimes. Bama is being coddled by the SEC because they are a brand name team. I don't think I've ever seen a more blatant show of favoritism as the "transitional" schedules for Bama.

Spurrier brought this up in the preseason but Ole Miss turned out to be way better than expected. Most people weren't even sure if they would win an SEC game this year and they'd probably be a 9-3 team if the breaks went their way.

We did have an easier schedule and I don't care. When Florida sucked and SC sucked no one cared. How was it for Florida when Spurrier was there and there permanent opponent was LSU. He mocked LSU regularly. Their toughest game was TN Bamas permanent opponent. SC was no one when they joined but are a good team now. Let's all revamp schedules every year so no one plays an easier schedule than anyone else. Then all the whining can stop.

All this whining is horse crap. Did SOS whine about playing LSU in the 90's when y'all were heir doormat and the only tough team they played in the east was TN Bamas permanent opponent. That is why all of this is rediculous. Two yrs from now who knows what teams are going to. E great and which will fall off the map.

I don't mind the "harder" schedule. I mind the purposeful manipulation of Alabama's schedule by the SEC to position them for greater success.
