“My wife (Jill) just asked me, ‘Hugh, what should I pray that you want the end game to be?’ he said. “I said that they (the NCAA) accept the penalties that we self-imposed. I wish somebody would say, ‘Look, they’ve (NCAA) been there four years and the staff is not buying players.’ ”

So he's a cheater and a comedian...

A graduate from the Jim Boeheim school of spin.

quote:

“But when they say ‘cheating,’ that’s not true. Rules being broken is a lot different. Cheating to me is intentionally doing something, like you wanted to get this recruit so you arranged a job for him, or you went to see him when you shouldn’t. You called him when you shouldn’t to gain an edge in recruiting to get a really good player. That’s cheating.”

Freeze, just shut up.
You are better off not commenting at all.

I can COMPLETELY see where a administrator would mistakenly refer a player to another administrator for cash and that administrator would get if for him.

I get confused when he says he knows everything that goes on in the program versus things happen that he doesn't know about.

So after three and a half years of investigation into how Ole Miss got that recruiting class in 2013 and they find Tunsil's mom's boy friend got $800 from a booster and couple of hotel rooms. The big question is where are all the 5 and 6 figure payments to LT or Treadwell or big Rob or Connor?

Y'all give this guy way too much credit with the whole sinister snake oil salesman label.

I honestly think he's just a naive idiot. Like his tweet in signing day a few years ago challenging people to bring forth allegations? That's the stuff of a simpleton.

I realize that Freeze feels a great need to defend himself in this publicity storm, but comments like those quotes are just more fuel on the fire for his detractors. Sort of reminds one of Bill Clinton and "I didn't have sex with that woman." And it depends on what the definition of is is, and what counts as sex, (or in this case the definition of cheating).
I assume these comments are meant to reassure recruits and the fan base, but
Ole Miss' PR is taking one hit after another. They really need to rethink their approach. "Silence is golden" may be a good motto until they come up with a better plan.
