All the talk about Ole Miss paying players, I figured I'd take a look at the returns we got from the 2 we hear the most accusations about; Tunsil and Treadwell. Supposedly we paid them each roughly $20 million dollars to attend our university. Were they worth it? Was it worth it for them? Both had successful careers that ended with each scoring in a Sugar Bowl win and both are projected to be top 10 picks and Millionaires. So, I'd say their decision was a great one. As far as Ole Miss, we went from being a program that nobody talked about and nobody cared about to having every person with a Rant account or any form of social media to be talking about Ole Miss. Our athletic department has raised more money in the past 3 years than any other time, and we've been ranked in the top 5 the past 2 years. While Tunsil got suspended 7 games, he's been the best lineman in football and from all accounts was a great teammate. Treadwell will go down with the likes of Archie, Eli, Patrick Willis, and Dexter when people mention their favorite Ole Miss Football Player of all time. So I'd say unless we get the death penalty, the Return on Investment for these 2 was pretty damn good. If every few years we lose a few scholarships and have a bowl ban, I'll gladly take that for players like this and getting to beat Alabama.

While this statement 100% could change depending on the ruling, right now the Juice was definitely worth the Squeeze.

Both could have done that and won more at a different school.

And still completely irrelevant.

You'll live the rest of your life knowing the only reason you beat Alabama was because your program was paying players. That will eat you up inside, whether you admit it or not.

you know, this actually sounds like an ole miss fan that knows how to appreciate what they were able to do relative to their program's history and not pretend that Ole Miss can be anything more. willing to go on probation for a 9-4 and 10-3 season. Bold statement, but I applaud your honesty

Edit: outside that top 5 remark. that's too cute

I retract my statement for you, sir. Thank you for actually admitting that haha. How old are you? The new generation seems to not grasp the hatred between the schools.

i'll be 31 soon. I grew up in Memphis, and most of my closer friends growing up are Ole Miss alums, so my hatred might be a little different than others.

You think the greatest football program of all time, with the greatest facilities in the country, and the best college football coach of all time is having to pay players to come play for us?

I think the rivalry will heat back up fairly quickly. If somehow we escape the long dick of the NCAA and death penalty.
