Every time he buries his head in his towel and loses and people question him and he makes some terrible excuse or passes the blame, he loses more respect from his teammates and the rest of the league. He'll never win anything significant in the NFL.

So glad you could enlighten us from his teammates' point of view.

This past October after a terrible performance vs the Saints he said "I blame nobody but myself"

People question him? Of course they do - I know I do at times. What star in the NFL doesn't get questioned when they perform poorly?

I wasn't a fan of Cam at all in college, but I give him major props in the NFL. He seems like a great guy.

It certainly appears that Cam has been more successful than many of us expected.

Congratulations, aubs. Please enjoy the party and wipe yourselves off when you're done.

He's been a middle of the road QB. He still has leadership issues and his passing is awful. I could look it up but I think his QBR is in the bottom five of NFL starters. In his defense he has been on a middle of the road team and has never had that great wide receiver. Good receivers, but not great. Even Newton's rushing ability was not that great last year. He finished the year pretty well though. He is just so inconsistent. Having said all that who the hell else were the Panthers going to get? and if the Panthers didn't pay Newton, someone was. The market for a QB who can lead a team to the playoffs, even in a horrible division, is very very small.

Good lord you Aubies are a sensitive bunch.

CAMMY CAM said himself that he was immature.

quote:

"I was very immature," Newton said when asked about his sometimes moody reaction as losses piled up. "I'll be the first one to tell you, the pouting and the moping, I kind of overdid it. I know that. I was a bad teammate. I shut off to some people who gave unbelievable effort. … That's where I have to mature."

He's got undeniable talent. But he was also a shithead his first few years in the league. Good on him for growing up.

Hate on Mike Shula as a QB coach all you want. Your boy is a better QB because of him.

quote:

"It's like [quarterbacks] coach [Mike] Shula says to me, 'Water off a duck's back, you can't let it bother you,' " Newton said. "If you let little things affect you, it's going to stay with you the next time you have to go out on the field. So I have to do a better job of controlling my emotions during the good and the bad. Just be a better teammate. My position requires that I show leadership and people are looking at me. If I'm pouty and grumpy, that's how they react to me.

"Half the time it wasn't me shutting people down because I was thinking they weren't giving the same effort as me, it was me knowing there were things I could do that could have changed the outcome of the game. … I put a lot on me to be able to respond. When things are going wrong, I wanted to have the ball in my hand, just like any warrior, any competitor who has played this game. When you don't get the results you want, I didn't go about it the right way."

I wonder if that had to do with a car wreck where he suffered back injuries?

Nah, probably not.

OK it's time to call it. I was right all along. The guy was not worthy of a number one pick. Never was. Never will be. He's lost his mobility. Without that he is mediocre at best. He will not ever be a stand-in-the-pocket passer, which is what I said all along. Four years into your career, a #1 draft pick QB should have his team a Super Bowl contender. Anyone think Carolina is a Super Bowl contender? Hell no. And they never will be with sCam at QB. So all you morons who texted death threats to my phone, or posted crap on here wanting to admit I am wrong when clearly I never was because you were butthurt that not everyone believes everything your local Charlotte media pumps up their butts (or tries to) can...as they used to say on the TV show Psych...SUCK IT! 9 sacks?? Two Pick 6s in one game?? LMFAO!!!

And by the way, I will not be showing up to any games in sCam jersey in 2016. I am not going to be held responsible after last night for the Panther's coaching staff being too stupid to bench this bust. I'd bench him next week. What is he 2-6-1? His back up is 1-0. Time for him to start.

P.S.- The over/under on Anderson taking over as starting QB? I give it four weeks.

Chud was a lot better with Cam than Shula has been, IMO. I hated that Carolina lost him.

Or you could say Shula was a lot better as Newton's QB coach than Ken Dorsey is

Nope. He had a better rushing average in the four games he played after the wreck than the games prior to it

Offseason ankle surgery then?

The cracked ribs he got in the preseason?

Rushing the ball through the big boys on a bad hoof and bad ribs ain't easy, ya know.

Maybe on all that. Newton had some abysmal games last year and some where he was standing on his head. Regardless his abilities are worth it even though his results may not be simply because the market for a QB is so so bad. No lie I think Brett Farve could start today.

There are some common sense posts throughout and then there are the biased ones that are negative towards Newton. It's kind of amusing.
