We seem to be forgetting the level of talent on those two teams. Lets rehash. Keep in mind, these are just the players who either started or played significant minutes in some sort of every game package. This does not include freshmen who played on special teams or the list would be almost double.

Lavar Edwards and Tharold Simon need to be added to the LSU list. Were 6th round picks.

LSU actually had a more talented team. Bama had the better QB and the better coach.

LSU's problem was they had an average QB and a relatively average O-line (compared to the talents elsewhere). They had great young skill guys on offense, but they were all pretty young.

And of course, I say "problem" for a team that was probably the 2nd best team of the last 10 years.

Bolded pro bowlers.... I thought for sure Hightower has made a pro bowl, but apparently he has been snubbed two years in a row

Yea, I think he was pretty frustrated he didn't make it this year.

But yea, incredible list of great college players AND a bunch of college players who have since become very solid NFL players. Just crazy the amount of players in those games.

Almost every Alabama player on our 2-deep on defense was either drafted or started a game in the NFL. That is dumb.

FS - Barron/Clinton-Dix
SS - Lester/Sunseri
CB - Dre/Menzie/Milliner
LB - Upshaw/Johnson/Hightower/Hubbard/Mosely
DL - Williams/Chapman/Dial/Stinson

I'm sure LSU was close to the same.

That's the only game I've been to in BRyant-Denny stadium and that is still the most electric atmosphere I've ever been a part of. I've been to many great games, but you could tell that everyone in the stadium knew it was going to be an absolute war the entire game.

I know it. I'm sure some of those Miami/Florida State games would have similar groups of NFL players, but the depth on both those teams was just silly.

You can count on one hand the number of defensive players on both teams that didn't play in the NFL. I mean, that doesn't happen.

Looking back that 2011 run was pretty wild. I did not think we would have the Oline for it, and ultimately that is what caught up to us in the NCG.
