Harris vs Moo State in 14 was the closest either of tbose two came to Shea. It was exposed as a fluke the following week.

Too good? He bombed all his interviews last year. He'd be lucky to get any power 5 job.

If by "bombed" you mean deliberately tried to avoid being hired then I agree.

Yeah I have a hard time believing that a coach with the winning record Miles has, the recruiting prowess he's known for, and a national championship to his name hasn't been hired by somebody. Unless he didn't want to be hired.

Les Miles' legacy as a coach is going to be as an LSU head coach. Les knows if he went to Ole Miss, he'd not only be sacrificing 7 million dollars to spend time with his family, he'd never be welcome back to LSU.

With that said, it'd make getting rid of O all to easy (if he fails) and save LSU millions, so by all means I hope he does it. frick him if he does though.

I'm glad there are LSU fans that, even if they wanted Les Miles gone, understand the he was a great coach with an impressive record.

I've always found the narrative that Les Miles couldn't find another job to be quite silly.

Best of luck to him. Glad he's gone!

This is, in fact, not the case. I'm told Les is extremely interested and has made that known to Ole Miss money folks. LINK

The Ole Miss money folks lol. Isnt that a big cause of their problems now?

Even as an LSU fan that wanted Les gone, I couldn't help but like the comment.

How do you figure this? It's sad that opposing fans know more about this than most tigger fans.

Hint: he gives up nothing, in fact LSU will most likely be footing most of his salary wherever he goes next.

His buyout is only 9.7 million over 6 years. It was 12.9 entering 2016 but he had already been paid 3.2 million of his 2016 salary when fired. He's not taking a job that pays him less than 4 million/year, and he's not going to sign a contract for fewer than 3 years, so no, if Les Miles signs another coaching contract, LSU won't be paying a dime to him anymore

No LSU wouldnt. If he is hired as a head coach, LSU instantaneously owes him jack shite. That's a fact. Stick to dan Mullins' contract and let LSU worry about les.

LSU will owe him the difference between the buyout amount and his salary, he can go to work for 100 grand and LSU still owes him the balance.

Is there any Tiger fan that has at least basic reading comprehension skills?

if you think he would be able to work for 100 grand and not be violating the terms of his buyout. He cannot be willfully underemployed. That is about 1/50 of his fair market value as a coach.

You seem not to be ablw to comprehend my post. Yes, he is owed the difference, but any coaching contract he'd get would more than offset anything LSU owes to Les Miles, and they owe him even less than his original buyout at this point, about 1.3 million less, as he's been collecting about 133k a month for 10 months now.

LSU's payments to Miles would be reduced by whatever amount he is paid at his new job, be it in or out of football.

Honestly, I just don't know why the hell any coach would take that job, It's a hard place to win at but here are the bigger issues; Out of control boosters, and that means your name may soon be caught up in another investigation and ruin your reputation. Secondly, the hammer is coming. Bowl bans, lots more reductions in scholarships to be added to those already in place.

What fool wants to go somewhere that is going to be very down starting in 2018 and last for years to come?

Les Miles had a nice winning record at Lsu, a time at Ole Miss would destroy his winning % as a coach.

Wasn't there a coach that did this exact thing a couple years ago?

New team was paying him very little while the old team was footing his salary with the buyout?
