I think you just have a simpler mind than most as you are not understanding what I'm trying to say.

What is it that you are not getting...

MSU replaces a walk on who was trained up to beast mode, and is being replaced by a player with a higher ceiling.... Was top in the state coming out of hs.

MSU replaces 2 players rated 2 stars each. They are being replaced by seasoned ol that were top in the state and another guy was the #1 juco.

No one is saying that MSU will be awful. But it doesn't take much of a drop in this division to fall to the bottom. The division is so tough that experience may be the difference in finishing in the top two versus finishing in the bottom 2.

Anything can happen this year but when you have to pick, and its so close, it's easy to point to the school that lost the most starters.

Also, it's one thing to replace starters with excellent players. But what about depth? Last year you guys rotated defensive players. So your new starters should be experienced. But what about their backups? These are questions we don't have to ask about other teams.

I know Rankin was the top JuCo tackle but what in-state offensive linemen are you talking about? Patterson was the consensus top lineman in the state and it wan't close. There isn't another in-state offensive lineman that I can think of that we even offered.

Did you just start following recruiting. Look back at the 2011/12/13 recruiting classes. Desper was the number 1 center in the state. Just look up the players classes and rankings. Then understand that we have a massive red shirting, build them program. And it's working. It's why we are deep.

Fair question. I will answer with a question that should give you that answer. Why was MSU so deep at every position including rb, WR, ol, dl, lb, and dbs....? MSU knows that success brings in great recruits. But you have to have success first. How could MSU do that? Build a program designed to build players. Red shirt everybody. We redshirted a complete class of 19. While Bama has 5 stars that play right away, MSU had 2 stars that stay for 5 years. Dak is a 5th year player and what was his star rating...3? Do you know what his passing average was prior to last year? Would you call Dillion Day a 2 star player in his senior year? What about the walk on Beckwith? Was he a no talent hack who just happened to find favor of the football god and became all sec?

We have players who have been in the system for 3 years that are ready to play now. Just like the 4 and 5 stars that are freshman or sophomores. It's the system.

Now the other side of that is we have been landing better talent, some we talked into redshirting, some they played early. Like jones, the 5. Star dl... Like James.. Ranked 12th in the nation at dl. Or Shump... The rb everybody will know at the end of this season.... Where as Robinson did horrible vs ole miss, Shump averaged 5.8 yards per carry. Then we get those few jucos to go along with it... Jung (lb) and rankin#1 juco OT in the country that will be redshirted due to depth.
