Reminder on the new SEC baseball tourney bracket

There really is no seed with particular advantage. Yes 1-4 get a bye, but sometimes the committee just wants to see that you won a game or two in the tourney.
It's different, but still like it better than the 10-team bracket that would flip after round 1.

It may not give clear advantages beyond the top 4 getting a bye -- but personally, I just want the best RPI matchups possible for whatever slim chance we could muster toward hosting with a couple of victories. Even if it's probably not possible for us to get on the right side of the hosting bubble...
We'd be about #24 RPI with another win @ Bama today. Then, give me Vandy and Florida for the opportunity to get inside the top 20 and into the possible "5th" SEC host discussion...

It's not that new...been around for a couple of years now.

When it was 8-teams, the bracket was perfection.
Then we had that odd period with 10-team bracket that just sucked, last time I attended the tourney I kept a folded up copy in my pocket. Was hard to easily grasp.
This one is definitely still new. It's so equal there is virtually no ideal seed, other than to get lucky on matchups.
