I'm not exactly sure what board this belongs on, but tonight/tomorrow morning marks 15 years since the tragic bonfire collapse in College Station. For all the Aggies who are reflecting or struggling in this time, I just wanted to let you know that I'm praying with y'all and hope that y'all can celebrate, remember, and honor the 12 men and women who lost their lives that day.

That's a pretty emotional photo. Awesome tribute for a very tragic event.

Such a tragedy. That it was 12 who died makes it all the more solemn.

So tragic. Rest in Peace Ags.

Really wish the school would revisit their policy on an official bonfire. I honestly think that permitting this tradition to go on would be the most appropriate way to honor their memories.

There is a student led/run Bonfire that is still held off campus and is not officially sanctioned by the university. They'll be burning a bonfire this year the night before the LSU game.

It's much smaller in scale (and has much more oversight) than the previous on-campus iterations, but the tradition does live on in that form.

Thanks for the explanation bro. Just wish we understood that tragedies happen and the best way to honor those we have lost is to hold onto our traditions. That bonfire is an awesome tradition that is (only slightly) diminished by the change in venue.

Gig Em through eternity my Ag brothers we lost that day

ETA: And to honor those who fell that tragic day, I change my avi in their memory. For the Twelve.
