BDP was a good recruiter while at LSU
As long as they keep him away from special teams, he's a solid pickup.

you can afford an elite recruiter as a position coach. Having him control 1 of the 3 units is where shite gets dicey

As long as they don't leave him in charge of a position then he's a good hire. His Texas connections are legit

Coach O has a great record as Head Coach in the SEC and his decision making was so great he got fired. Not sure I would use his decision making to prove a point.

I agree saying O fired him doesn't prove the point but the guy just cannot coach. Hes an elite recruiter though. Recruits mention BDP by name all the time and talk about how much they love him. It's a good hire in my opinion. No way they give him free reign of the linebackers. If they do its a terrible hire.

My guess is that we hired him and gave him the LB title for recruiting purposes. I know he'll be the LB coach, but he can recruit well and we need some good recruits for that position. As long as he isn't handling the defense or special teams, I think it's not a bad hire.

No, one individual coach coaches special teams, it's just a title and O got rid of him for the same reason he got rid of Cam, loyalty to Miles. Lsu fans are mocking OM for hiring a good recruiter and suspect position coach when they did the same with their head coach. Stop obsessing over us, we have a rival

Once again, one coach doesn't coach special teams, it's a title. One that we haven't even given this guy.
