Realistically, What is the Standard for LSU Football?

2011 was the exception, not the rule, for both Alabama and LSU. Realistically, our fans shouldn't expect defenses that dominant to appear again anytime soon. When will LSU find their next Honey Badger?

I believe the 2009 and 2012 seasons are reasonable standards for Saban's Alabama. Alabama dominated most of their schedule, survived a couple close scares, and won the SEC and national championship games. Alabama's standard will require a few minor offensive and defensive adjustments. I wouldn't expect it, but it's not unrealistic to think that Saban may coach a team better than 2009 and 2012 Alabama.

Anyways, what is LSU's standard?

9-3 with an upset win over Bama should be considered a successful year for LSU football.

Bama has 3 sec titles in over two decades. Congrats on getting VOTED INTO BCSCG.the reason you have so few sec titles is that no amount of begging or media bias will get you into the seccg.

This year I either expect us to go 10-2 and finish 3rd in SEC or maybe if were lucky get in a 3 way tie with Bama and Auburn at 11-1. I have VERY high expectations for the 2015 though.

winning a SEC Title or division would be good for Bama since it doesn't happen often

Bama losing to it highest rated opponent during the regular season is their standard. 4 years and counting.

Auburn is 1-6 in the last 7 against the school you're talking shite about. Including whipping the floor with you this year.

SEC championships and Natties. What the hell else is there. You play the game to win and never be satisfied with second.

In no particular order.

1. Eek out lucky wins against arky
2. 3/5 cycles vs. OM
3. Entertaining and likeable team/coach
4. Destroy aggy every year
5. Compete for and/or win the west
6. Recruit like hell so that we have pimp teams to root for and so that every signing day doesn't come with a kick in the nuts

Due to the massive defensive turnover going into this year I expected to win only 9 games including the bowl game. But as a Standard definitely I as a fan expect to compete for the SEC title

We are better than your favorite SEC since the dawn of the 21st century.

We are either tied or leading every opponet in the SEC head to head since the dawn of the 21st century

We have won more SEC titles than anyone since the dawn of the 21st century.

We have won more games than any other SEC team since the dawn of the 21st century.

Bama was a washed up old blip until an ex-LSU coach saved your program. Yet, 7 years after you hired that ex-LSU coach, LSU still leads Bama in every category sans one. All you have to show for it is the same amount of MNC appearances, winning exactly one more. Otherwise, you still look up to LSU in the 21st. Bama certainly is not the SEC standard.

Entering year 15. Have a nice day..... and

Know your role.
