What would your reaction be and how do you feel the media would view the hire?

Media - bash on Auburn for putting wins over morals, forgets about it in a month

Us - "Auburn put wins over morals? No surprise. I will troll them with rape jokes this week and move on. "

It wouldn't even be good amongst the Auburn fanbase, much less the media and with opposing fans.

Besides, why would Auburn hire Art Briles now if they wouldn't hire Bobby Petrino in 2013?

Wouldn't make sense...

I actually called for this after the game last weekend.

Briles would bring Jarrett Stidham with him and make Auburn an instant playoff contender for next year.

I don't have a problem with it in the assistant/rehab/Lane Kiffin kind of capacity. You would of course get criticism nationally but after a while it will leave the news cycle.

But if you hire him as HC, you would deserve to be ripped apart, you would be playing the heel, and it would make the Cam Newton reaction look tame.

I know we all love to get on high horses about silly things, but would you really want to hire Briles?

What he did at Baylor isn't individual immorality (like Petrino), he pretty clearly looked the other way with sexual assault and rape to win football games. He unleashed, and then looked the other way, while his guys raped and pillaged the Baylor female population.

And then on GameDay he continued his shoulder shrug mentality about his role in it.

That's almost Paterno level bad.

Auburn is a scum program so it seems fitting they would hire a scum bag.

Think it would be smart. Screw the media, and their high horse bs. They don't care about most of our hate of the crap they support, and force down out throats.

Brush the stupid "rape" jokes by dumba**es on the internet with their own internal personal problems.

First team to do it will be the winner.

Media would eat you alive.

My reaction would be meh. I've never been overly impressed with him. He put up gaudy numbers in the B12, but always managed to inexplicably lose to a lesser opponent and also choke on the big bowl stage.

I'd be shocked if they didn't hire that piece of trash.

To quote an Auburn fan melting down this past weekend:

quote:

Screw the safety of the women at Auburn, bring in Art Briles. It’s just the women.

Well I'd personally fear for the safety of my cousins that go there... Hopefully they'd transfer.

Why do you care?

Every school has shite in their closets.

We have a murderer in prison now that played for us.

Everyone's goal is to win and we may talk shite but at the end of the day who cares what we think.

I don't give a damn about this arrogant conference and its fans. Winning is what everyone expects.

Briles basically pulled a Paterno. Paterno was fired and later killed.

Auburn can't be that desperate, can they?

Briles is a lot like Gus isn't he? The hot, offensive HUNH mind. We see how Gus is doing in the gladiator pit that is the SEC.

I would only be slightly more concerned with Briles than I am with Gus. Seems to me AU might want to bring in a more seasoned defensive mind who can hire a good OC. Gary Patterson comes to mind.
