Rant about ESPN

I can't remember another football season where ESPN did a worse job scheduling football games. I know at least a dozen games that I watched where the previous game had not ended by the time the following one started. The worst one being a game that ran over an hour... and they still took full commercial breaks and showed their promos instead of trying to speed along (by causing less delay) the game.

I can't remember another year when so many highly ranked teams in the preseason were so bad.

There shouldn't be any official rankings until at least week 4.

Not arguing but in the spirt of the thread, I think the networks need something to guide their scheduling - if not these early polls, then what?

they've turned into a megaphone for the national organization for women.

Pretty much. Speaking of, if all these rule changes in football continue, basketball will become the most physical sport of the big three.

Okay, I'll second that...I think.

We have had a competitive baseball program, the last two or three teams have really sucked though. A few CWS (2 runner-up finishes), Super Regionals (most recent was loss to Clemson who played SoCar for the title).

Forget the guy's name but the longest home run I've seen hit (at Swayze) was from a guy from bama in 08 or 09...
We got smashed that day like 18-3 or something. He hit it clear over the big oak in left. fricking no doubter. Anybody remember his name??
Sorry for hijack.
ESPN was really bad about scheduling though and I really don't see the benefit to them.

I think you are talking about the 2010 Super Regional in Clemson where y'all lost to them, they advanced to the CWS where we knocked them out and then went on to beat UCLA for the National Championship?
If I remember correctly y'all took the first game from Clemson and then they won the next two at their place? They crushed y'all in the second game if I remember correctly, but the other two were like 1 run games maybe?
We were not even a national seed that year. We had to fight our way through the Super Regional at Coastal Carolina winning on a Christian Walker homer to advance to Omaha before winning the national championship.
PS: Yes OP, I too thought the games were poorly scheduled this past season. Seems like all the daytime games overlapped, some of them well into the first qtr of the following game.
