It's also what makes it scary. A couple bad hires and you can find yourself a cellar dweller real soon. Just look at Tennessee the last few years.

God yes. The Vols were a legit powerhouse but a couple of bad hires and now they are the Great White Hope of the conference. Mind you, while I think Butch Jones is a horrible game day coach, I think the Vols will be a top team.

Or you land a great coach... but he lasts just a season or two longer then he should. USCe was on an amazing run before Spurrier just sort of retired before he retired.

There is no margin of error. People were howling to fire Les Miles last year and I think he has, if LSU develops a passing attack, a real shot at winning a Natty this year.

It is the SEC... you go big or you stay at home. Life on the edge of knife is a lot more exciting.

I put UF ahead because of the titles. And LSU leads the all-time series against auburn, has more wins all-time, and more of both conference and national titles.

Auburn was just that other team in Alabama that wasn't Troy State until they hit the jackpot.
When might that have been, oh wise one?

And that's cool. We have 5 if you want to count the way some schools do but I understand most people don't count those. Also we have to realize that outside of a vacated 84 conference title, UF didn't really have much going for it til spurrier, whereas UGA has had success most of its history. We lead UF head to head, have WAY more SEC titles, more wins, more just about everything. They just have more "official" titles...which as I said if someone wants to give them the nod bc of that I get it.

Do Auburn fans agree? Edit: I see LSU leads the head to head by 7 games. Thats not the only factor, but still a more significant lead than I would have guessed.

Sigh....

quote:

LSU has:
-The series record on Auburn
-More program wins
-Better all time win %
-More National and SEC Championships
-More bowl games
-More bowl wins
-More NY6 bowls: More -> Sugar, Peach, Orange, Cotton / both have no traditional Fiesta or Rose Bowl appearances
-More AP poll weeks
-More AP #1 weeks
-More draft picks
-More first round draft picks

Auburn has: -More heismans
-Better bowl win %

Tied: -All Americans

It's not really that close. Close would be LSU and UGA. LSU getting the nod due to more Championships. Record book has 2 for UGA and 4 for LSU.

Stop being a douchebag dude. You were mediocre for decades until the stars aligned.

That is what makes the SEC great. If the stars do align you have a shot at real glory.

With no insult intended Auburn is that other school in Alabama that doesn't have a ton of campuses on military bases (Troy State).

Own it and live with it. You are the placenta of Alabama, a sort of nasty after birth if you will. This is who you are. Learn to love it.

Has aTm always been bad? I know next to nothing about their history but always assumed they must have been really good back in the old days.

Not near as good as they would like you to believe. Always an afterthought in Texas but you gotta hand it them. They sure don't act like it

ETA: I should add these are all time. Not just since we have gone to divisions

If they're all-time, then we should probably be ahead of USC.
