Some SEC schools have a waiting list for seats and sell premium packages to donors. In otherwords, a 30,000 + seat student section doesn't make sense.

I haven't been to A&M, but I figured out from when they came to Columbia my sophomore year for the game they were some strange people. Plus it really irked not only Carolina fans but citizens of the state that don't care about football that they did their weird yelling thing at our capital building
But coming from someone who has been in the student section, it is such a blast ! Why do you think we won 18 straight at home?

LSU: "12,000 served in WWI, 5,000 as officers, 16 generals" LINK

But hey, don't let the facts get in the way of a good story.
As for ranking student sections:
The Big 3 in the SEC are A&M, Florida and LSU in no particular order. The comes Auburn, Tennessee, Bama, and Georgia not too distant from the top three. Then everyone else.
