Unless you are on TD in the stadium you cant tell from TV how loud it is

They have microphones in the stadium. It's louder or quieter based on what they want you to hear.

You can't tell how loud or who is louder from CBS

So you're saying when Bama is on offense CBS turns down the stadium audio feed in the mix, and when Bama is on defense they turn it up?

Dude that crowd noise comes from microphones they have placed around the stadium, for the most part. It might just so happen that where they placed the devices this time around give the perception that Bama fans are significantly louder. For example, at LSU, they do not put microphones anywhere close to the Student Section usually, because they don't trust the language.... yet that is the loudest part. So yea, you really can't tell who is being louder by watching TV.
