TUSCALOOSA, Alabama -- Nick Saban spoke with reporters on the weekly SEC teleconference on Wednesday morning.

This post is aimed to offer you a synopsis of what was said. We will offer more detailed information throughout the week.

Alabama's fifth-year head coach spoke about the following:

* Alabama has done a good job of bouncing back this week after not playing well in the first half.

* On trying to coach a team coming off a national championship : expectations are greater than they probably should be. It's a challenge to get players to overcome entitlement. The two years Saban's staffs dealt with it, he said it was tough, it was a problem.

* On Marquis Maze: He's a different player compared to Julio Jones. Saban said he has a little bit of running back in him, and that Alabama tries to coach him to his strengths.

* On staying at Alabama: Saban said he came to Alabama with the idea he would come here for the rest of my career. He said he will continue to coach here as long as he stays healthy, and passionate about teaching and coaching players. S the coach

* On DeQuan Menzie: Saban said "DQ" has really improved since he arrived at Alabama. He has been healthy this year. Saban said he's been a real positive for Alabama.

* On LSU's lack of home night games: Saban said when he was at LSU everyone there favored playing at night because it favored the tradition and culture.

* On the challenge of motivating the team facing a non-ranked opponent: Saban said its his philosophy at Alabama that the Tide needs to work on its approach to the game, and not concern itself with the opponent's abilities. Saban said he wants his players to focus playing at their best.

Yeah, that 2-2 record against us is really telling of how scared we are.

Don't quote me on this, but I think this is less a measure of how afraid LSU fans are of Saban's teams, and more a measure of their consternation over him not having left Alabama yet. After the hire (and to this date, in some cases) a lot of LSU fans predicted (hoped) that he would last between two and four years before leaving.

Don't let reading comprehension get in the way of your fabulous posts, though.

This is why when he decided to go to Bama and leave the Dolphins, I was so pissed. There is no doubt in my mind he wants nothing to do with the NFL again. So when he went to Bama and I felt like he was and is going there for a long time. He is a great coach....dont like to see my most hated team with a great coach...but lets face it, he will be there for years.I tried to explain this to people the day he decided to go to Bama.

One of your fellow mensa fans said, "What are you going to do when he stays the full 11 years?" shite Bricks?

Your coach doesn't have a winning record against us. Why would we care? I worry more about the Arkansas game more than the Alabama game on a regular basis, just not this year.

If Saban was 4-0 against LSU then yeah, I prob. would shite bricks, but he's not, he doesn't even have a winning record against us.

Just happened to occur in the same season as the last time LSU won the SEC West.

That's fantastic, but do you speak for all of your fellow MENSA fans? Do all of them care only about his win-loss record against LSU or are there retards like MoreOrLes whose dreams are haunted by "$abun's" face with an Alabama straw hat on his head?

If you follow the flow of the thread, the "shite bricks" comment was referring to LSU fans who want Saban to leave Alabama, not at LSU fans who are afraid of him winning.

This is not as hard as you're making it out to be, dude.

I'm mor econcerned about Miles leaving LSU than I am about saban leaving Bama. Sabes can stay as long as wants. I respect him, but glad we have Les Miles

its my opinion that saban is responsible, directly or indirectly, for the success of the SEC recently.

he built up lsu, they won a championship.
florida was so outclassed by saban, they hired CUM, florida won a title.
saban leaves, lsu hires miles, miles wins with saban's team.
saban is hired at bama, they win a championship.
auburn was so outclassed by saban, they hired chiz and Cam.

saban makes this whole conference whoop arse. nobody should want him to leave

Whether he's the coach for Alabama, The Green bay Packers, The Ottawa Roughriders or the West Cannan Coyotes, he's still a huge piece of shite.
