When it happened, I looked heavenward and said, "We cannot beat the REFS and Alabama b/c it was deja` vu all over again....same ole same ole.
The facemask was blatant. The referee must have been impaired, partial, paid off, whatever.
I don't agree that 'Bama self destructed. I think Bo Wallace and the Rebels decided they could and would win. We have all seen Ole Miss NOT capitalize on the other team's mistakes, but not this day! You cannot explain the season by one game.
Injuries weakened us considerably down the road, and while ALL teams must adjust to adversity, Ole Miss didn't have the depth in the backups.
Ole Miss played with a lot of confidence in the Alabama game. If anything rattled "Bama, it had to be disconcerting to have a bunch of Rebels go head to head punch to punch with them. Kind of like they wondered who the hell we think we are!
That win was no fluke. Alabama did not collapse./ They made stupid mistakes that were costly. The momentum could easily have shifted in their favor with the bogus no call at the end of the half, but ALL season long, Ole Miss played harder when things looked shaky for them.
The Arkansas game cannot be explained. it was an ugly loss and could have ended the season. This coaching staff does not allow wallowing around in what ifs and what might have beens......The next week this plucky group of players completely dominated a shell shocked MSU in a stunning Egg Bowl victory. If Arkansas was the catalyst.....I say hurray! Certainly each one of the Rebel players had to look deep inside themselves before taking the field in the Egg Bowl. The Rebs showed just how very talented they were. Again, no fluke..no bad calls, no cheap shots...just in your face determined courageous Rebels.
The face mask no call was a blessing. It didn't discourage the Rebels......it inspired them!

I sat there amazed how the Refs missed that call. I am not saying conspiracy, however as a whole group, we have bad refs.
I do look forward to the day the SEC office moves out of Birmingham, it is long over due. Alabama was once the face of the SEC, but that time has long gone with world of media today.
