Question for Bama fans - why so few successful black QBs?

Not a flame - I don't think it's a raycisss thing, just peculiar.
I can only think of five African-American QBs that have ever started Bama in the 40 years since integration: Walter Lewis, Andrew Zow, Vince Sutton, Danny Woodson, and David Palmer (who wasn't really a QB, but did start under center for a game or two).
Put it this way - Jeremy Johnson's collegiate career started less than a month ago, and in just two games he has already thrown for more TDs than all but three of the black QBs in Tide history, and has probably taken more snaps under center in those two games than all your African-American QBs combined have in the past 12 seasons.
The combination of the 'elite QBs' thread and the comments in the UT game thread about Blake Sims not being in Bama's future plans at the position got me to wondering. Again, I don't think it's the result of any kind of bias, but I am beginning to think it's some kind of jinx.
Thanks, and I'll hang up and listen.

Black athletes aren't usually game managers.

I always forget how progressive Auburn is.

probably because they don't recruit black QBs

Why are you noticing the Race of QBs?

It is peculiar, and it's probably just coincidence more than anything. There are definitely some racist fans that don't think we should have a black QB, but the coaches couldn't really care less as long as the QB gives us the best shot to win.

This is the exact answer to your question.

Let me translate:
"black kids run fast and aren't smart white kids with high motors"
now I'll translate it again:
"i'm racist"

If Winston had signed with Bama this thread wouldn't exist

Race only matters to racists and those with a political agenda.
I can't answer for the University of Alabama nor can anyone on this board. I don't focus on race so it's never been issue to address from my perspective.
Why are you so consumed with race?

Because, we like White QBs. You have a problem with that? Well , Freddy Kitchens was mixed but you know what I mean.
