I live in the Hoover/Bluff Park area and am going to the game tomorrow, but unfortunately I can't hit the road until maybe 12:30 or 1. A few questions about my route:

1)If I leave from home in Hoover, I understand I should just take 280 all the way down into Auburn, right?

2)My real question is this. I may go pick someone up in Montevallo/Alabaster by the Shelby County airport exit, which is about 20-25 miles down I-65 south from Hoover. In that case, should I just keep going down 65 to 85, or should I take some little small roads directly east to hit 280, and continue down from there?

Take 65 straight to 85 in that case.

Ok that's what I figured. Looking at a map though it just looks SO far out of the way doing that.

Also, with all that said, what would ultimately be faster? Leaving from Hoover taking 280 the whole way or 65/85? And how much is it faster by?

Yep but there's no stops or anything doing that. You'll average 70-75 all the way to AU.

It takes me around 25-30 minutes or so quicker if I go straight 280 from Birmingham compared to Montgomery then 85 to AU.

make the person in Montevallo come to you then just take 280.

Looks like it is 65 to 85 for you then.

But perhaps if you play your cards right you will be "To tired" to drive all the way back to Hoover.

We're staying in Montevallo Saturday night regardless, which further complicates things.

Once you see the dumpster fire, set up your tailgate. You're there.

it would be a lot easier (and quicker) if she just met you in Hoover when you got off work. JMO though.

Yeah I know, but her thing is that after the game when we get back to Hoover at midnight then we'll take our 2 cars back to montevallo. That makes sense I guess, I just want to maximize my time on Saturday.

Nah. Y'all meet in Hoover, take one car to auburn. After the game, take 85 to 65 and go to her house. Cause she'll be staying Sunday night, right?

Yeah, but her parents are out of town so she has to stay down there to watch the animals. I like your idea fine, I just don't know if I want to spend ALL day Sunday down there, which I would have to. We're figuring it out tonight.

Are you going with us or tonight?

I'm gonna head down tonight around 6ish. Gonna wait for traffic to die down on 280.

Go south until you smell it, then west until you step in it.
